Love the Philippines? #FilipiYES!

In the article by Aussie on the Road, titled “10 Reasons Why I Love the Philippines”, I was very happy that there are foreigners out there who enjoy staying in the Philippines. The author decided to go to the Philippines after hearing Nomadic American say many good things about the country, he decided to come and pay us a visit. He apparently had very high expectations about the Philippines and he was not disappointed. He even said, “I went in with expectations high and came home with a newfound love for the island country in my heart.” Very nice to hear right? I hope you are wondering what he enjoyed here in the Philippines.

First, he enjoyed the food. He developed a “soft spot” for the food here. He seemed to like adobo, the various “silogs”, and lechon. Funnily enough, he did not seem to like longganisa. Next, he went on in saying that he was happy about the way the Philippines was so Westerner friendly. He even compared the country to Thailand and said the Philippines was even nicer than Thailand. Next, he loved the wildlife here, since some of them, like the small tarsier and the gigantic whale sharks, were so unique he also expressed the fun he had during scuba diving as legendary. In the cities, he seemed to love the nightlife and the transport. He enjoyed the cheapness of the nightclubs and the general feel of the bars. In the transportation, he was happy that all the prices were so cheap, making going to other places affordable for many travelers. Another thing he gushed about was the serenity of places in isolated beaches, like in El Nido. He also found a liking for the girls of the Philippines, saying that they are very pretty. In the end, he enjoyed the beaches the most, but he could never stop talking about the friendliness of the people.

As Filipinos, we should be proud of our country and keep protecting its good qualities so that we too can say good things about our own country.
